Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands, establishes seaweed farmers groups because many residents are attracted to be seaweed farmers.

Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Pepen Kuswandi explained, 300 residents have been trained by KPKP Sub-department and UKT 2 to cultivate seaweed in Panggang Island and Karya Island.
Panggang Island People Educated to Cultivate Seaweed"We have divided 300 seaweed farmers into 30 groups and zones," he informed, Wednesday (8/14).
Their cultivation zone are located near Karya Island, Karang Lebar and Karang Sempit. His side hopes this zoning system can maintain sea water quality and prevent seaweed from getting disease.
